Nothing beats a perfectly cooked burger when you're feeding a hungry crew. These aren't your average backyard burgers - this is systematic galley cooking that delivers juicy, flavorful patties every single time.

Ingredients:

For the Patties:

  • 2.5 lbs ground beef (80/20 blend for best flavor)

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

For Assembly:

  • 12 hamburger buns (extras are always smart)

  • 10 slices cheese (American, cheddar, or Swiss)

  • 2 large tomatoes, sliced

  • 1 large onion, sliced

  • Lettuce leaves

  • Ben's Galley Fresh Dill Pickles (from Day 2!)

Condiment Station:

  • Ketchup, mustard, mayo

The Galley Method:

Step 1: Form Perfect Patties (10 minutes) Divide ground beef into 10 portions (about 4 oz each). Here's the key - gently form into patties slightly larger than your buns, then make a small indent in the center. This prevents the dreaded burger puff-up. Season both sides with your spice blend.

Step 2: Prep Your Assembly Line While patties rest, slice tomatoes and onions, wash and dry lettuce, and set up your condiment station. Don't forget those homemade dill pickles - they're the star of this show!

Step 3: Cook Like a Pro Heat your largest skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Cook patties 4-5 minutes first side, flip once, then 3-4 minutes more. Resist the urge to press down - you'll squeeze out all the juices.

Step 4: Build-Your-Own Station Toast buns lightly if desired, then set up a build-your-own burger bar. Let everyone customize their perfect burger.

Galley Pro Tips:

Gentle handling keeps burgers tender - overworking makes them tough

Flip once only - keeps all those delicious juices locked in

Rest the meat - let formed patties sit 5 minutes before cooking

Cheese timing - add in the last minute for perfect melting
